A Note About Littermate Syndrome

Littermate syndrome is a behavioral challenge that can sometimes occur when two puppies grow up together and become overly dependent on one another. Because of this, many rescues choose to separate littermates before adoption.

In Romeo and Juliet’s case, we carefully evaluated what would be best for them as individuals. These two share an exceptionally strong bond and struggled significantly when separated during our evaluations. At this stage in their development, we believe remaining together is the healthiest and most stable path for them.

With continued structure, training, and individual attention, bonded pairs can grow into confident, well-adjusted adult dogs while still maintaining their special relationship.

He is doing exceptionally well with potty training, does great in his kennel, and is currently working on leash training and other basic puppy skills.

Franklin has a low to medium energy level, which makes him a great balance of fun and calm. He enjoys running around and playing, but he also has a relaxed side that makes him easy to settle in with after playtime.

When it comes to toys, Franklin has no shortage of favorites. He loves ropes, bones, and stuffed toys — especially his ducky, which he absolutely adores. One of his favorite activities is taking out all the toys he can find and turning playtime into his own little adventure.

Toffee is a gentle, affectionate puppy with a soft personality that really shines once she feels comfortable. At just 12 weeks old, she is already showing how sweet and loving she is, especially when she’s close to her people. While she may be a little shy at first, she warms up quickly and becomes incredibly cuddly and connected. She loves to be near you — whether that’s tucked behind you, leaning into you, or even perched on your shoulder like your tiny sidekick.

She is beautifully well-socialized and does great with dogs, kids, and cats, making her a wonderful fit for many types of homes. Toffee especially enjoys playing with bigger dogs, happily joining in even though she still thinks she’s small.
